I expect the daily post counts here to surge as usual during the summer as bikers buying new Goldwings purchase the GL1800, and the title of this forum naturally attracts new Goldwingers on GL1800's. Occasional 2,000 post days are not unusual on this forum as the members use the board to organize events, and new members sometimes hit 15-18 per day.
Goldwingfacts.com on 1,580 new posts, and leading again on new members with 24 today. During summer we can expect many 1000+ new post days here, normally running at about a third less than the GL1800Riders. Daily new members will roll in at a consistent 20+ and sometimes well over 30. I have seen many 40+ days here.
Naked Goldwings steady activity today. 399 posts and 6 new members.
NAGF on a good day. 129 posts and 5 new members.

Goldwinfacts.com and GL1800Riders with the highest daily post rates as usual. Almost level on posts since yesterday and both gaining 19 new members.

GWRRA on 209 posts since yesterday, not an exceptionally busy day for them.

Some notes:

Goldwingfacts.com and GL1800Riders with the highest daily post rates as usual. Goldwingfacts.com is starting to outstrip GL1800Riders on post counts on more days each month compared to a couple of years ago, as an example the last three days have shown the Irish owned hobby forum passed the mighty Honda vendor owned colossus on post numbers. This may not last as GL1800Riders usually turns over an average of 1,500 posts every day, and is currently seeing some unusually slow under 1,000 post days. Also, goldwingfacts.com is having some exceptionally busy days lately and getting over the 1,000 post mark more often. Along with the consistently higher daily member sign-ups, this indicates that while GL1800Riders is still the largest Goldwing forum on post numbers, the forum still growing at the fastest rate is Goldwingfacts.com.
Naked Goldwings continues to impress, most days showing 250+ posts and good new member sign-up numbers.
GWRRA had a good day yesterday with over 600 posts, falling back today to 228. New member sign-up rates are decent enough, but nowhere near what they were in the old days.

Some notes:

A good 24 hours for the GWRRA with 613 posts and 23 new members.
Goldwingfacts.com ahead of GL1800Riders on posts again today, and way ahead on new members as always. Both forums shaping up for a good overall April and the start of the busy season.
Naked Goldwings on 226 new posts is going very well too. Very rarely do the see sub-200 post days any more.
North American Goldwings over the 100 post mark in the last 24 hours, not bad but still showing a downward trend on previous years and not taking off as expected for this time of year as busy posting season is well underway.

April 13th. 2011 Update

The daily forums posting/new members stats here are taken by me each day at different times. I decided to start doing this as late March-early April is when motorcycle forums start to get busier. I know you might think they should be less busy because we will all be out riding after the Winter, but that isn't so. Motorcycle forums get busier around now and peak during the Summer months as bikers use their spare non-riding time time to interact more on the web, looking for technical help and arranging meets. Forum activity and posting tails off around October-November during cabin fever season, when many riders store their motorcycles up for the Winter.

There may be a 20 hour gap between each days stats here, or 27 hours or whatever depending on when I have time to check them.

GWRRA Message Board

The GWRRA forum membership now stands at 5,242, up by 2,242 since last year. Total posts are 88,800. That's about 4,000 posts per month since I started this blog over a year ago, down from the initial 5,000 per month in spite of the extra members. 

Things haven't all been rosy on the GWRRA forum recently, with moderators deleting many posts and a complete part of the forum for apparently no good reason, and with no explanation. They have been deleting any posts questioning why the GWRRA forum is closed to non-members. Some members have been banned for questioning the current forum strategy, and some of the members banned have 10 years GWRRA forum membership and were established posters in very good standing. Any mention or questioning of the bans or deleted posts also get deleted.
This heavy handed treatment of loyal GWRRA forum members is IMHO nothing short of a disgrace and smacks of arrogance of the highest level. Shame on the GWRRA forum management for stooping to this level. Some members have canceled their GWRRA membership over this issue. These GWRRA exiles now have their own forum, "The Exile's Board" at http://gwrra.info/index.php which I will review at a later date.

The GL1800 Riders forum membership now stands at 29,471 which is up 3,700 since I wrote this review early last year. Total posts are 1,845,310, up a whopping 340,000 in the same period. The monthly post has stayed healthy at around 32,000 a month.

Steve Saunders Goldwing forum (goldwingfacts.com)

Goldwingfacts.com forum membership now stands at 34,593 which is up 6,355 since I wrote this review early last year and the largest membership increase of any Goldwing forum. Total posts are 1,272,444 which is a massive increase of 270,000 posts in the same period of time. The monthly post count now averages around 26,000. Still no sign of advertising banners here, which is very commendable. But with this forum growing so fast and using up ever more server space and bandwidth, it could be risky continuing to rely solely on donations to pay the hosting fees.

Goldwingfacts.com continues to be the fastest growing Goldwing forum on the web.

Riders Rally

RidersRally forum membership now stands at 4,852 which is up a mere 102 since I wrote this review early last year. Total posts are 140,008, up by only 3,000 in the last year. The monthly post rate has dropped to around 250 a month and still sliding. This forum has become very stale indeed and continues to die a slow death.

Naked Goldwings

Naked Goldwings forum membership now stands at 7,405 which is up 535 since I wrote this review last year. Total posts are 318,417, up by around 70,000 in the same period. The monthly post rate now averages a healthy 6,000 per month. The niggle I had about a couple of vendors hijacking threads with "I can sell you that" has been addressed and that makes the forum more pleasant to be a part of. Clearly the change of forum management last year saw some positive changes at NGW.

Total posts are 114,833 up by around 30,000 in the last year and down by about a third on the two previous years from 2008. The monthly post rate, while lower than last year still averages about 2,500 and the majority of posting is still done by the same ten or so members, admins and forum sponsors.

GL1200 Goldwings forum membership now stands at 2,257 which is up 648 since I wrote this review last year. Total posts are 64,913, up by a disappointingly low 1,913 in the last year and indicating a quite big slowdown in posting. The monthly post rate now averages about 200.
